However, they are very difficult to plow and manage due to the high, thoroughly mixed clay content . 8. However, cooler soils with high clay content and high water capacity may retard the ripening too drastically. 9. Despite a high clay content in most cases, poorly drained soils are too inextensive to be mapped. 10. Use would be limited, however, to dry conditions and to soils without high iron or clay content .
